ActionAid is an international organisation with main offices in Johannesburg in South Africa with national affiliations in northern and southern parts of the world. For more than 30 years it has striven to work with institutions in order to change conditions at the root of human rights violations regarding women and children.

Mission

• to defeat the causes of poverty and injustice
• to resist against inequality, abuse, violence and prejudice.

Areas of activity

• a branch for development and implementation of projects and operations in southern countries which can implement such rights
• the co-ordination of work on official funding
• to influence behaviour and mentality of donors towards the civil population both in economic terms as well as regarding the programme
